In defense of the 350D, it is not that difficult to press the AV +/-
button and scroll the wheel to change apperture. The info screen on
the back always shows the exp info and the LCD the general camera
settings and preview. It is not that difficult.

To change focus points, there is a dedicated button on the top right
back corner. Then you can scroll the wheel or use the directional
buttons to select the one you want. If you press the OK button, it
will select the central focus point. If you repeat the process, it
will select all. Not a big deal.

I have to recognise that I've never used more pro models on a regular
basis so I never got used to the dial on the back. I can't miss it.

I agree the size of the camera is a bit of an issue for me. I think
I'm going to buy the battery pack.
