What? So I shouldn't do this straight onto the lens? ;-)

I have to concede, much to many folks' disgust, I am sure, that
I am prone to using a "clean" part of a my tshirt to smear grit
and oil around the front of my lens...umm, I mean, clean it.
I've never been real cautious about my kit, though I must also
concede that I have never done this with my 70-200 IS 2.8.

I did once accidentally hurl my Olympus OM1 across the room
by the strap. The camera and lens were okay, but it dented my
floor. :-D

Maybe I should put filters on my lenses to protect them from
*me*? <g>
