Well, no. I have the spec sheet right in front of me, and it says 2540. Here is the quote from the spec sheet: "2,540 dpi maximum optical resolution over the entire format" It did offer what they called "scanning resolution" of 6,400...but that's not optical resolution, it's interpolated. The EverSmart Pro II was 3175 optical resolution, but the 8600 is interpolated. This must have been the scanner you were referring to, not the EverSmart Pro. The EverSmart Supreme offered 5600 optical resolution. >From what I've seen first hand, though, for 35mm, MF and even 4x5, these (even the Supreme) weren't necessarily as good as the top end dedicated film scanners like the Imacons and Leaf (MF depends on which EverSmart you compare to, but not 4x5, as the Leaf is 1200 for 4x5). But, for most people, the difference wouldn't matter.
