Besides a P&S digital camera I still have not purchased a digital SLR (I did
try a Canon D2000 and Nikon D1 for a while with disappointing results). The
biggest issue with digitized film/slides was the dust. I do have the funds
to purchase a 30D. Nevertheless, considering my past experience, I would be
willing to wait and pay for a D40/D35/D30n/. So your opinion is appreciated.

No experience with the self clean feature but lots of expeience with
waiting for version x.n.n.n.
In the past I waited for the next version of the "highly sophistamacated
doowacky" I was looking at and missed a lot of things by waiting.
If you wait for and buy a D40 why didn't you wait for the D50? and so on
and so on.....
BTW, what is the D2000? A tytpo?
