Hi, > Dust in scanning film is definitely more of a problem...
It *can* be more of a problem, or it can be less of a problem. My particular scanner does not have a dust problem (Leafscan 45) because of it's design. It is designed like an upside down enlarger (no mirrors, straight light path and it uses a cold cathode light source with a diffusion chamber), and it also has a negative pressurized chamber when the film and lense reside. This leads to nearly dust free scanning...at least in my experience.
