Personally, I also REALLY like a camera, or anything, that uses plain
ole AA batteries. They are cheap and readily available. You can always
use the lithium Energizer AA batteries from Eveready .... great power
and last a loooong time. Expensive though. Also, they do not go down
gradually like alkaline, they just DIE in an instant... so always have
spares.

The A570IS uses two AA cells. Not a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery.
You won't have to carry a charger, unless your AA cells are
rechargeable, so you won't need a wall plug. Carry a couple spare
AAs bu if needed, just about anywhere you go in the world you can
find AA cells......
