Gordon, I should have seen it earlier. :-/ I have never tested using heterogenous environments. It *should* work, but this was not a priority so far. If you feel like debugging this, I suggest you launch all clients manually (see resident node doc) in a debugger before launching the application, and then see where it crashes. If you send me a stack trace, I'll probably can give you some hints. I'll read the older messages in a minute.
