I have updated to ver 12 EOD and and am able to use ver 11 EOD on my laptop or
vice-versa, but you cannot open both on the same computer.
I was told I could load ver 12 on as many computers as I wanted, but you can
only open it on one.
As long as Quote Centre is not discontinued everything will be fine.
Having said that I don’t see much in ver 12 EOD to bother upgrading, although I
admit I haven’t had much chance to get into it.
To me the Power Centre just replaces the controls which I am already familiar
with in ver 11 without adding anything?
Explorations do run at least as fast in my opinion, I have not used the system
tester yet.
You also get one month free use of TradeGuider, I was going to wait until
January to start that.....but at $149 per month I am not sure I can justify
that with all the stuff that is already available for free on the internet....
My 2 cents!

It may even be worse. My Ms 11 has stopped working. It now displays the
following error message.

Metastock licence required
File astsrv.exe is not current version

Let’s face it the useless types have taken over Ms and it hasn’t improved much
since Ms 7. Only the prices have gone up. Very disappointing. I am looking for
a replacement.

They designed version 12 so that it will only work with only data vendors that
are part of Thomson Rueters.

Both Reuters End of Day and Xenith or what ever they want to call it is part of
Thomsonrueters. With both Xenith and Quote Center, the core data is from
Thomsonrueters. Xenith is just wrapped differently to give you all the
fundamental information we don't need nor use. I was told that once you use
version 12 with Xenith, then they will disable your Quote Center after a couple
months. Why, I don't know.

Sounds like once they deactivate your Quote Center, you won't be able to go
back to previous verion 11 and 10 or 9.

I was told by the people from Metastock that version 12 will not read any data
on your c drive anymore. For different reasons, I need to have the data on my
C drive. At some point, there will be a windows version out there where
version 11 will no longer work with that new version of windows. At that
point, anybody with version 11 and before that has data on the c drive is
kaput.

What are the other good programs out there that will let an individual read the
F1.DAT and F1.DOP formats? Would they be compatible with the code for
Metastock?

Believe it!

I upgraded from Version 11 to MetaStock 12 on 20 Dec 2012...Called them on 21st
Dec for a refund. First MetaStock program which I have returned.

Bottom line - if you are out of WiFi/internet range the program is worthless.
Cannot Open or do anything with it. This rules out taking your laptop on
vacation or weekends in a lodge,, where you do not have internet connection,
and expecting you will do some exploring/testing of formulas. No amount of
"Spin" alters that fact.

Hold on to your previous versions....
