also, advice from my older son, who works with mechanics
at a power equipment company, where they repair LOTS
of generators  (and other power tools)

the #1 problem they find?    OLD or BAD fuel

(usually discovered in spring, from fuel left over from the end
of the previous fall)

he says, if you MUST use autofuel and leave it in the tank awhile,
use Sta-Bil  (of course probably not approved for aviation use ! )

but much better to drain the tank  --  also avoids the problem of
"varnish" in the carburetor

autofuel "goes bad" fairly quickly
aviation fuel seems to have a much longer life ...
