Dear Group -

Question:

If you have your current pilot's license, what do you have to do to obtain a Sport Pilot's License?

Thanks

Scott

Nothing.

If you have a private pilot license, when your medical lapses you can
still fly with the privileges of a sport pilot. In fact, you can fly
with the privileges of a sport pilot with all the extra endorsements
they need for controlled airspace, etc.

Provided your medical has not been denied, you fly a sport pilot
eligible plane, and you follow the sport pilot rules (e.g., daytime
only, 3 miles visibility, etc.).

Folks

I am going to TN to pick up a new Coupe for Ed Granato. Ed is the guy you may have read about in the March issue of AOPA with the Ercoupe on the cover. He is learning to fly in my Coupe and is about to buy his own this coming weekend. Please welcome Ed to the group.

I will be picking up his Coupe in TN and flying it to Florida. I need a standard bill-of-sale form and a standard aircraft registration form. Does anyone have these and would be willing to Federal Express them to me? I will gladly supply you with my Federal Express account number.

After we pick up Ed's new Coupe, we will be flying to another airport in TN with my friend Jose Gibert, to pick up his new Ercoupe! Yes...we are trying to corner the market on Ercoupes! With two new Ercoupes in hand, we will fly formation back to Florida! Please also welcome Jose to the group.

Thanks for the help.

Glen,
You should be able to obtain a bill of sale and a registration form
at any FBO. I'll be looking for your group next year before Sun N' Fun
to fly in with me, so we really have a large Ercoupe group flight.

Along with your bill of sale, you will need to fill out the following form:

http://www.state.tn.us/revenue/forms/sales/f1403901.pdf

Complete parts A, C, D, and E. You won't pay any taxes (as you will be
taking the plane out of state within 15 days of sale). It is to remove the
aircraft from the state's records.

Glen::

Google up and type in "Aircraft bill of sale" and the FAA form will be delivered right now along with instructions.

It is a PDF file and take precautions to let the entire thing load before clicking on anything! It is a government copy, and is the worlds most obnoxious program.
