That's exactly what has happened in New Zealand: when they started
charging for weather services, pilots stopped using them, which
prompted cuts in staffing, equipment and so on. So now, even those
who are willing to pay for the quality of service they used to have
..... can't get it.
Like all things, "free market economics" (and capitalism in general)
should be enjoyed in moderation. The profit motive is necessary, but
it ain't sufficient.
