Our friend, Hartmut Beil, has written an extremely interesting report
on "Flying In Germany" for this month's edition of Jim Slade's Air Lines
(www.jimsladesairlines.com) . Hartmut tells about the fee system now in use
and
the regulations German pilots face when flying at home or abroad in Europe
generally. I am updating his report to include what happened to his brother's
license (Hartmut has a US-issued license) when he refused to sign a paper to
which he objected.
In light of impending user fees and AOPA's position, we both feel it's
something every pilot should consider.
