Davd Back in the 50's sometime the guy who owned my Coupe tried to take off from a field that turned out to be too short. He hit two fence posts one on the outboard side of each wing. The 337 shows that one nose rib was replace on each side and there is a patch that overlaps the two ribs on either side. Any A&P should be able to assess the damage and repair to the proper standards. David Abrams [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ercoupe.com -----Original Message----- From: Dave T [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello, I'm a first time writer and new to ercoupe ownership - hope I'm using the correct group. I am recovering (under the supervision of an IA) the wings of my 1946 415C. There is damage to one of the leading edges due to striking a runway light. It created a 6 inch tear from the very front and continued all the way through the bottom side of the leading edge only. The light hit right between two nose ribs and about 1/2 way down the wing. There is no damage to the top side of the leading edge (or spar). Does anyone know if it's mandatory that I replace the entire leading edge or is there an approved way to repair the tear only? The rest of the leading edge looks very good. Of course, I'll check with my mechanic too. ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers-tech/
