Welcome to the list!

I have an Alon Aircoupe. As to sink rate, the Coupes'
glide ratio is a little less than say your typical
Cessna, but they certainly don't fall out of the sky
like some would say. I usually cut power to idle on
the downwind and land power off. That makes for a
pattern which doesn't extend into the next county,
something I prefer. Others leave a little power on
for a wider pattern.

Before I got my Coupe, most of my time was in Cessnas,
with about 100 hours in a J-3 Cub. Now I realize just
what floaty airplanes the Cessnas are, and I don't
like them. The Coupe, when it lands, is done flying,
unlike other airplanes. A great design.
