Dick, Yep, we've got some newbies here and also some of us veterans are middling ignorant. Details do help us. For example, I've read article(s) saying it's not enough to run it up to operating temperature. Instead, it's necessary, they said, to keep it at operating temperature for a length of time (which I can't remember) to make sure all water in the system has been evaporated away. Just getting it up to operating temperature (like I've seen advocated a hundred times) then shutting it down is, they said, MORE damaging to the engine than just shutting it down after a good flight and leaving it for years with no pickling. I (being middling ignorant) would appreciate all good, definitive information people here can provide. Sure sorry I can't cite the source for this memory of one or more articles nor tell you how good of research they did for this assertion.
