Actually, this is "Dr. Bird". Multi millionare,
patented a bunch of medical equipment (baby
respirator, etc). He has *numerous* planes and a lot
of them have been modified with different engines (one
time STCs). You should see the lakeside complex he
has. I've flown over it a bunch of times and a bunch
of guys here at work know him pretty well. He's quite
a fellow.

One quick Dr. Bird story (heard from a friend of his
daughter)... one evening he had several folks over to
dinner one of which was Harrison Ford. Later, after
the guests left, his daughter asked him if he knew who
Harrison Ford was. He said something to the effect of
"I don't know who he is, all I know is he had a G**
D*** earring!"

J.W. Reining,

The FAA has an Alon (A-86, N103DB) listed that they
think has a
Lycoming
0-320? It is an experimental aircraft. I am not sure
if the engine is
correct or not because they have one aircraft they
think is a Coupe
with an
R-985. I sure would like to see how they got that
450HP under the
cowling. (This appears to be a coding error on
aircraft type.)

The owner for the Alon is listed as:

BIRD FORREST M
PO BOX 817
SANDPOINT, IDAHO 83864-0817

If you call Mr. Bird and get any details or pictures
would you pass
them on
to me?
