Steve:
DO not alodine your coupe.
Alodine is a great corrosion protection but I only use it on parts where I have doublers, like around the antenna hole reinforcement where the doubler is alodined. It is simple to do, just clean the surface with a scotch brite or brillo pad and drop it in a bucket of alodine for about a minute. Take it out and wash it very well and it is ready to be installed. Easy to do with small parts but not with the whole bottom of a coupe.
Polish is still the best thing for a coupe as far as looks are concerned.
Mine has the bottom of the cockpit , wing armpits and everything right back along the bottom of the tailcone painted gray. The rest of the coupe is polished and very few people have ever noticed that the bottom is not polished. It would be a lot of uncomfortable polishing if it was...
I keep it hangared which keeps it out of the weather.
