John Wright the elder discussed the
O-200 motor installation and Sport Pilot on a 415-C. He states the new
engine makes it a D model, which is not eligible for Sport. I checked with
a FSDO worker, and he says "it depends on the STC. If it calls for the
greater weight of 1400 pounds, then it is not eligible. It might be silent
on the gross weight, so it could be Sport legal."
Do any of you O-200 jockeys have your
STC handy, or could you get it for me? Thanx!!
