Those mags were called "throw-aways" because they were no designed to be
overhauled. I think they were designed for atleast 1200-1800 hours to be
compatible with engine TBO though. Bill

I heard something today that surprised me. My airplane is undergoing an annual
and I was told that it had the "old" Slick 4000 series mags and that they were
"crap" and only would last about 400-500 hours before they failed. The mags
look new and were installed during an engine overhaul and the engine has about
60 hours on it.Is there something to this or not?BartN3807H
