I heard something today that surprised me.  My airplane is undergoing 
an annual and I was told that it had the "old" Slick 4000 series mags 
and that they were "crap" and only would last about 400-500 hours 
before they failed.  The mags look new and were installed during an 
engine overhaul and the engine has about 60 hours on it.
Is there something to this or not?
