Those mags were called "throw-aways" because they were no designed to be overhauled. I think they were designed for atleast 1200-1800 hours to be compatible with engine TBO though. Bill

My airplane is undergoing an annual and I was told that it had the "old" Slick 4000 series mags and that they were "crap" and only would last about 400-500 hours before they failed.
