Not to nag, actually, Dave, but . . .

 

I think you'll find that our superior crosswind capability comes from having
the swivel-wheel in front, where God meant it to be, rather than in back
makes the key difference.

 

That, combined with an on-the-ground level, no-lift attitude are the
definitive factors.

 

Sure, taildraggers can be landed in strong crosswinds - if you have the
necessary skills.  But they sure don't do it naturally like Coupes!

 

Tricycle gear, level-on-the-ground QCU Challengers, which land at about 30,
also do quite well in strong crosswinds.  Maybe not as good a Coupes, but
they can handle crosswind components in excess of 25 mph, too.

 

Maybe the old-timers can tell us - which is better in a very strong
crosswind, a Pacer or a Tri-Pacer?
