  Why going overboard with this question.

  There was a request for an image of a crack in the spar area.

  When I read that I had immediately the image from the Skyport site in mind. I 
have not seen a photograph of a crack in a spar. If someone has one, please 
send it to me.

  The crack in the rib that we are now discussing is a result of a bad design. 
The center section flexes at least a little on every landing, and the rib needs 
to give at that point. But due to the cutout for the spar, the rib is weakened 
here, can't give as much and the place for the crack is therefore pre-defined.

  Nothing to get exited about. 
  This crack can develop after one hard landing, even in a brand new center 
section. It is a good reminder for all of us to check the area at the next 
annual.

  Even though the rib represents a structural item, I do not consider a crack 
there as a safety hazard. The main attachment point of the rib is in the front 
and the lug ,the crack is parting is not carrying the main load here.

          SMK60 is a reinforcement for the rib.  I don't believe that it is a 
fix for a
          cracked rib - only a reinforcement to prevent such crack.   The crack 
is in
          Glenn's spar cap and that is the crack that I think Univair should 
address
          a fix for.
