Thanks, Craig. It seems that the concerns of my A&P are well 
founded. There are a number of things to worry about when hooking up 
these beasts.

I have a restrictor value and a vacuum gauge. I hope that works. The 
vacuum regulators listed in Aircraft Spruce run from $200 to $1,000. 
I hope that I don't need one of them. If so, I would definately opt 
for removing the whole sheban and waiting until I can afford 
electrically driven gyros or the newer solid-state instruments.
