I meant 30 years or so. I also meant to say that, since the Stromberg mixture takes a while to have an effect, and since student pilots are prone to push and pull controls in a haphazard way, may Strombergs were wired rich to prevent inadvertent fan stoppage in the air. From this practice all sorts of rumors sprung, including the one that there is an AD somewhere mandating the mixture control be removed. (Not true).
