Remember the FAA's motto: "We're Not Happy Until You're Not Happy!" I'd rather leave them out of everything short of the airlines.
I do get a small bit of hate mail, and I mostly tell them what they can do. But feel free to complain to me, I don't pull licenses! As far as I'm concerned 'coupes have suffered too long from habits that are not quite right and it seems to have become a cult. I too am guilty of these habits, so I speak from experience. Although I'm one that questions rules, they're put into place for one reason or another, and usually can/will only hurt the pocketbook. We thrive by helping each other, by looking improprieties straight on and finding solutions. If I need to look extremely hard and sound off extremely loud, it's because of what I've seen and the associated consequences. I'll fight for the little guy tooth and nail against anyone who even hints at the attempt to rip another off. Quite different from those who may or may not have a rating and knowledge but sit on the sidelines amusing themselves at the various replies, never lending a hand, then brag to each other about it. Whether they're cowards or think they're above anyone else, it just ain't right. Like watching a child drown in a pool, making light of all the splashing and crying. Case and point recently was when a few of us recommended the guy up north to overhaul the fuel tanks. The new owner contacted him and was discussing the various repair suggestions because he was curious about the info he gathered. The mechanic was quite rude, poo-pooing the info as bad stating that the internet folks are unknowing and just sit at the computer all day and pontificate. Spoke my mind out on that one and made a few of the natives restless, too bad. As far as I'm concerned, here we are trying to send all of the business to this bloke and he shuts it down. Okay fair enough, but even though I say let's help each other, now I say that he doesn't do anything anyone who's built an RV can't do or someone who repairs auto radiators can't do. Get the picture? The ENTIRE picture? In a few short years we've watched the value of these little planes almost double. We've also heard about how new owners are really becoming "victims" of unethical sellers. The madness must stop! We need to abide by the current FAA rules and if someone can't, they should be ejected from the ball game. We can't continue to support anything that just isn't right. Sure it hurts, but a heck of a lot of other things hurt even more. What for? Al What you wrote below is just the plain truth. Any complaints should be directed to the FAA, and not to you!!
