I used to fly a Tri Pacer and Cherokee 150 and the "jake" brake was all we had and it worked fine. But there was a time when both got " soft" and had to bleed them and adjust.

My "46, converted to a "D" with rudder pedals, has the Piper hand brake installed. This was done on a 337. I've owned a "C" 2 control in the past, 1965, with the foot pedal and parking brake. Once I got used to it I actually like the piper brake better. Mike Sigman N3041H
