We hope, someday, that the FAA will rule that any Coupe which did not have an airworthiness certificate changed was never legally upgraded. If so, it's still its original model. But we need a ruling from on high, not just a letter from a local FSDO staffer before a bunch of people bet their hard earned money on buying a plane. The people with a local letter may be OK no matter what. Just keep that letter in your files. The FAA doesn't seem to have any particular interest in whether a few Coupes are eligible or not. But they do have an interest in what, exactly, is involved in a model change. We want to tread carefully to try and get a ruling we like, not just a snap decision that rules against us.
