I think you are correct, that also explains mine having only one wire coming from the starter terminal, just like the diagram. I have to replace my ammeter with a 60 amp volt/amp combo job that uses a shunt in connection with my 60 amp alternator installation, looks like a great time to add a buss bar. I stuck my camera up under the dash and shot some blind photos, I think I can see a batch of wires on one side of the ammeter. Now all I need is a very small monkey to get up there and change the wires.
