Hi,

I'd like to convert my ers imagery from Mercator projection (x,y) to
Geographic projection (lat,lon)

I can see the lat lon coordinates using the "pixel coordinates" tool but my
ErMapper 6.1 does not reproject the data...

ANy suggestions?

Sincerely

All,

I would like to resample my .ecw files to plot. My ecw files are at a =
pixel
resolution of 0.25ft. I would like to plot at a scale of 1:4500. I did =
some
math and figured I would need to resample to 29 inches or a little over =
2
feet. Is there a way to have ER Mapper do the resampling - like some =
wizard?
I have been trying it by saving the mosaic of the original .ecw files =
as an
ers and resampling the ers accordingly. However I was hoping for a more
automated method. Perhaps I can just enter my plot scale and a little =
more
information and it can do the rest.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Carmen -

En Ingles, here is your projection. You need to close ER Mapper, add
the following lines to the files in the GDT_DATA folder, then restart ER
Mapper.
The new projection is named "L2_MEX_INEGI" with the lamcon2 projections.

Add to lamcon2.dat:

L2_MEX_INEGI, 0.0, 2500000, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, -1.780235837034, 0.305432619099,
0.514872129338, 0.410152374219, 1, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 6378206.4
,0.0822718542249391,294.9786982, 1

Add to project.dat:

L2_MEX_INEGI ,lamcon2,1.0 ,6378206.4 ,0.0822718542249391,294.9786982 ,1

Add to projinst.dat:

L2_MEX_INEGI,lamcon2,1,1,292,01_lamcon2,MEXICO,,LCC proj for Mexico from
INEGI,WORLD,PUBLIC

No need to resample. Try using File->Page Setup. Set AutoVary:Page or
AutoVary:Borders and you can enter the exact map scale for the plot.

The easiest way is to use the ESG Utility wizard.
Just curious as to why you need to do this, and
if it is something other users have a common need for ?

cheers

I'm planning to create a hill-shading image as a backdrop in a Internet map
application.
Currently, it supports ECW and geotiff.
The area I am working on is an island. I would like the areas of sea be
'untouched' by the hill-shade image layer. The internet map can output jepg
and png (which i currently use) formats. Therefore transparency is needed.
Does ECW supports it?

Nyon
