Because computers tend to be rather bad tools for sketching I often first
doodle something in my notebook and then firm up the concept in CAD by
adding hard sizes. Using TC I can assign materials and look at my design
(typically 3D) from any angle. This helps validate my design. And in the
case of my uw-housing I then printed out a stack of drawings to take to TAP
for cutting and routing.

For my rocketry work I used a CAD drawing to estimate that I needed a 4"
diameter rocket to build a guidance system. Hence my PML Eclipse. Now I just
need to build the guidance system :-)
