Hi everyone at XCOR Aerospace,

Aleta Jackson & Randall Clague recommended for me to
post this to everyone, so here goes!

I am a 22-year-old undergraduate student undertaking a
dissertation for a degree in Tourism Management &
Human Geography at the University of Gloucestershire,
England, U.K. I am in my final year and have just
returned from a placement in Kakadu National Park,
Australia. I now have to complete a double
dissertation module. While most students are compiling
boring tourism dissertations, I want to study
something that really interests me, space tourism!

I have researched space tourism and I feel that in the
next 50 years there will be a huge growth in the space
tourism market. It is extremely interesting.

But, I have had a lot of criticism thrown at me as my
university feels that there are very few potential
space tourists to interview. They have therefore
suggested not to research this subject. I am beginning
to think that they are right as I am finding it
EXTREMELY difficult in communicating with people
interested in journeying into space, an edge of space
trip or even to experience zero gravity/parabolic
flights. But hopefully you can prove them wrong.

The dissertation title is "Are today's adventure
tourists, tomorrow's space tourists?" I anticipate
interviewing a number of adventure tourists and space
tourists/potential space tourists in order to
ascertain whether they share similar characteristics
and motivations in respect of their adventure and
space pursuits.

I would be honored and would truly grateful if you
could spare me a short period in your day for an
interview via the Internet or telephone. The interview
would't be until February time but I am contacting you
now so I have an idea of numbers and so you will have
space in your diary.

I have received advice from a number of sources, most
notably: Space Adventures, John Brodie-Good of
Wildwings, The Zero Gravity Experience, Zegrahm Space
Society, Space Transportation Association, Inter
orbital Systems, Space Future.com, David Ashford,
Patrick Collins, Dr David Livingstone & NASA to name a
few.

I would like to think that my dissertation would be
able to enhance the existing research for future space
tourism. Any help would be gratefully received.

Thank you for reading this e-mail and I look forward
to your reply,

Yours sincerely,

Craig Kaufman.
