Christopher Grant did a nice job replying to this. Only thing I'd add is that since the etree ground rules make clear that trading of taper-unfriendly bands is verboten here, in effect the community already voluntarily limits its own speech. It's unfortunate that this is necessary -- ideally, ALL bands would see the wisdom of being taper-friendly -- but IMO it's prudent, given the existence of organizations like RIAA and laws like the DMCA. All I was proposing with my web-form-to-etrade gateway idea was a way to enforce those limits more consistently and effectively, in a way that would discourage anyone from bringing legal action while also minimizing unnecessary traffic (tut-tuts etc) on the etrade list. In light of comments by Diana Hamilton and others, I'm even more certain now that filtering of email text would not work. Properly programmed web forms would. I'd be happy to draft a more detailed functional spec & dummy up prototype forms -- if the server team is interested, email me off-list. (Can't say I have the PHP/MySQL skills yet to do the programming myself, though.) mjm _______________________________________________ etree.org etree mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://mail.etree.org/mailman/listinfo/etree Need help?
