Only thing I'd add to some excellent points mentioned so far is Dual Processors. The ECS D6VAA board can support two 1 Ghz processors and comes with a built in IDE Raid controller and can handle 3 512 RAM slots for a total of 1.5 gig ram. This will out perform even the fastest P4s when you consider the multi threading available with the dual set up. And the motherboard is less than 80 bucks!!!!
