Recently I was bitten by "the Yamaha Curse" (if the experience of other
etreers in past threads is anything to go by). I thought I might escape
it, but alas no. So what is this mysterious curse you might wonder?
Well, my Yamaha 8824SZ died about two months out of its one year
warranty. :-(
(Like I said, when I bought the thing, I remember several etree posts of
people who'd had theirs die very shortly after the warranty expired. If
only I'd listened!:)
My system (DEC 3000/300 Alpha) will only support SCSI. Plextor only
seems to make the 12/10/40 SCSI model these days (I guess they're
jumping ship to IDE). Are there any other SCSI burners worthy of
recommendation for those of us on a budget? I noticed a Teac 12/10/40
SCSI unit that supported BURN-proof?...
Cheers,
Paul.
