I used Webmin to configure DNS on my computer at home. It made it a little easier but you still have to understand DNS stuff.

I'm working on a machine at home that I intend to bring here and make it another server. I am in the process of evaluating some Time Entry (payroll-like) software called JourneyX.. Had some installation issues that I was able to resolve, and the app has a browser interface and seems functional. So my problem is accessing this thing from another box in true 'network mode' i.e. many users... I can ping the box, I can ssh into it, the web server (apache) is working... I should be able to enter a URL into my browser on another machine and go to it and see the JourneyX interface. Should be something like: http://MyServer.com:8080 and the interface should appear.... Here's my problem: How do I create on this new box the "MyServer.com" address for it to resolve? I got mirred in conf files and all sorts of things, then I thought you folks could give the fast track to making it work. I'll probably be changing all of it when I bring it down here to the office anyway, so the less 'hard coding' I have to do the better. -- Matthew S.
