You are actually right. Amazing how many people don't RTFM. n00bs. "Discontinuing support for" and "AVG will no longer be free" are two very different things. Can't believe how many people I get asking about that. As mentioned though, ClamWin is shaping up to be a nice contender. Fair warning, it does not 'actively' scan files as they come in yet. I'm sure it is a goal by 1.0 (current .88.6)
That's the end of my rant for poor virus gettin' Windows users. FWIW, I ran the AVG linux version on a Ubuntu box and it claimed to have found a virus in Cinelerra. Rather amusing it was.
