Very good point, and why there is so much confusion about what was written:
it just doesn't make sense.

There's no way he's losing 10% of his income and happy about it.

When the study was started, it was mentioned that there would be downtime
during the day to recharge, during which they would not be able to get a
fare. That seemed like a big obstacle to me. I didn't even consider that
some fares would have to be turned down (due to distance).

The upside is obviously a lower cost for the energy required to drive.

Wish the article was more clear.
