yes,  it seems rather low, But I dont know that model.
Call and ask the tech suport at Trojan?  if they have anything to add?

maybe in a very hot climate you will get only 500 or lower,(guessing here)  
Do you have them hot-a-lot ?  
High Temperature + time  = ..a killer, for most battery chem.  

Also a Temp compensated charger should be used then, so they dont get 
overcharged every time.


If it is very cold, and a very weak charger that dont bouble-mix at all, 
then it may be an electrolyte "stratification"(?) problem?  
(layers, strong acid in the lover part, and more or less only water in the top.)
