Yeah, the spare tire still fits where it originally rode.  It's to the left of 
the controller behind the battery.

I would maybe think about not carrying it in the car to save weight though.

Anyway, I just drove it to the sandwich shop at 75mph.  Whoa!!

Awesome! Happy feeling for sure.
Looking through the 27 step posts of your conversion,
I noticed something: is the spare tire still under the
battery pack in the trunk?
My EV does not have a spare (space under the bed is used for 
several battery boxes, giving up the space for the spare)
so I keep an inflated spare in my garage - in case of trouble,
I will need to bring the spare to the truck, jack it up and
replace the wheel to get going again, or have it towed.
I do keep a tire pump in the truck. It also helps that there
is good tread on the tires.
