Talking to resellers, I have been bugging them for test specs. Of course
there is no such thing as far as I can tell. The Chinese are generally
perplexed by my questioning. They show me curves, and I say, what are the
conditions and equipment used to generate those curves. They send me more
curves. They have blind faith in what the battery OEMs tell them and there
is no push back from small scale buyers. It will take the auto OEMs to
push this into the world of real manufacturing.

I found a small programmable power supply that I could afford. It has
serial communication so I can runt from my PC and do some data acquisition
while charging, and maybe I can use it to measure voltage while discharging
and get the data (it has a measure command). SO I am going to steadily
learn what I can.

The Freedm Center here has a fancy battery cell cycle tester, some battery
and capacitor load banks that they can use to wave shape inputs and loads.
Good for life cycle testing. Very nice. But the academic mind set is very
different from the DIIYer, end user POV. They seem to be in contact with
Tesla, and maybe others. But talking with you all and talking with them...
there is a disconnect.

I hope someday some standards become accepted for LI cells. By then Li
cells may not be the hot thing anymore. Hard to say.

Reminds me I have not actually looked at ISO to see what is there.
