Jack, This will be my last on-list reply, I fear we are annoying other readers when we take this much further.
If you are convinced that my mind is made up then there is nothing I can do to change that. In your previous response, you clearly stated that you try to harvest free energy, no change in the speed of forward moment of the vehicle, but magically you expect it to generate electricity without losing energy. That is the very definition of a perpetuum mobile. You think that you can increase the efficiency of a vehicle by tapping energy from its forward movement and that is incorrect, the efficiency of the vehicle is not increased, instead the energy is harvested from that same wasteful 30% (max) efficient output, so that the fuel consumption to travel the road *with* energy harvesting will increase, not decrease. That is why I think this is not a good solution. I hope this clarifies the discussion, please send any follow-up responses offline as we need to keep this list on-topic for EVs and we are straying away... No, I'm not. The energy is supplied by an outside source and is energy that would otherwise be wasted. Not "free" energy as in a "perpetuum mobile machine". But no point in bothering with details when summarily dismissing new ideas and approaches. > That should tell you enough. Sure, your mind is already made up. > BTW, in the previous post I added "I would love to be proven wrong", so that will tell you how much my mind is made up. Your previous reply makes it obvious. > I love seeing a reasoning that includes the laws of physics, > to avoid trying to reason about impossible energy creation. But obviously not reuse of otherwise wasted energy. We're talking about a grossly polluting mode of transportation that MAYBE gets 30% energy utilization. And here is a possible approach that might get it up to what... 31%? Only real numbers will tell but if you're content enough with the less than 30% to dismiss potential new approaches... I just saw a report on how much millennials are going to pay for cleaning up this mess we've created. Make their exorbitant cost of college pale in comparison. Almost anything seems like a viable option at this point in comparison to doing nothing. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org Read EVAngel's EV News at http://evdl.org/evln/ Please discuss EV drag racing at NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
