You must realize, for example, that comp is the favorite explicit or implicit hypothesis of the weak materialist (which believes that primary matter exists, or that matter exists primitively). I can understand they does not like the idea that comp and weak materialism are (epistemologically) incompatible. Atheist are mad at it. I have underestimate the influence of aristotelism on the (weak or not) materialists.
