Computation is a human mental peculiarity - an 'evolved resource' by '_being_ alive' (whatever that means).

In the sense of writing equations and numbers down or doing arithmetic. But in the more general sense of information processing, then computation is an essential part of metabolism. It means taking stuff that's not you, and using code that describes your stuff, transform it into stuff that is you.
