Any attempt to separate out time from space-time and remain within the context of special relativity is bound to fail, because SR is the unification of space and time. In Newtonian theory there was absolute space and absolute time. In SR there is only absolute space-time (in the sense of invariant distances through space-time). In SR, time is relative, and lunch time doubly so.
