In this land Telmo, the means to get voters to vote is achieved by cash. In the US this is what seems to work. The US is thus, essentially an oligarchy, specifically, a plutocracy. I am ignorant if the EU, or more directly, Scandinavia is this way as well? Money gets people to the polls, and both parties are owned by billionaires. The US media is owned by billionaires, and on the Dem party side, they are the same people. The voters for the Dems go to the polls, primarily for the financial benefits they receive, directly from the state.
The Republican party is the same way, and is owned specifically, by the US Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundatble. This is where we are receiving class conflict in the US. It is, if we were to draw up sides, the very rich and the poor, and entitled, on one side; and the middle class on the other. The policies are all geared to benefit the clients of the very rich and the poor. You can look at the phrase "hedge fund managers," and get the idea on who is the Ruling Class. I view this nation-state as heading for violent conflict, but because there is no room for compromise there's zero to be done. A crucial issue that has emerged, is the survival of the current nation-states, via, imposed immigration. I am guessing that whatever your political views are, you are not thrilled with the social conflict and crime is, say, in Malmo? This is what I would conclude as the elites using people from Islam or, in the US case, Latin America, as a means of ensuring a solid voting block. If the elites cannot win by winning a nations' population over, they can then import 'voters' to replace the disaffected, local people. I, oversimplify this whole issue, but it breaks down to progressives will sacrifice their own countries, if they believe that they, personally, will not be adversely, affected by the policies of their political masters. One observation along this line is that "anti-war" protesters are never against wars involving Islamist aggression, or acts by China in the Pacific, or Mother Russia, but are ever, against the US military, the UK, etc. In any case, may you have a Joyous, Newtomas Season (The season of reason?), though, I prefer a holiday that invokes Hugh Everett, or maybe a proponent of the holographic principle? But you don't because you like hereditary plutocracy? Or because JEB is so pitifully incompetent that even his PAC can't save him? Ok, Brent, I will leave you be, because for you, Texas must be a sort of purgatory for you, yes? Are you as confused about where I live as about everything else? So yes, you are permitted to be sarcastic, via Slate. On the other hand, I am feeling that the US will soon be a failed state, as CIA used to term this. This, because there is no reasonable resolution between us. Are you intending to overthrow the democratic process and no longer abide by the result of elections. What will you do, declare The Donald your supreme leader and declare a yyyuuuuge victory? I am seriously, not, a social, or even an economic conservative. I am, for what it's worth, a nationalist So you're in favor of nations not being invaded and controlled by other nations. You like the 1648 treaty of Westphalia. Who doesn't. and your party and your team (Dems) are Not. Your lot is anti-nationalist, worldwide, What's that supposed to mean? Democrats are interested in the world beyond our borders - probably so. But they're not the team that decided that regime change of the axis of evil would be a good foreign policy. They're not the team that banished all the Sunni Bathists from the Iraqi army. with progressivism having a strong leaning towards Stalinist practices...eventually. And Nationalist like you and The Donald have fascist policies they want to implement. On immigration, if they (Democrats-Progressives) start eroding the base of whites, older blacks, and Latinos who have been here long-term, Fact free Faux Gnus fantasy: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2014/04/21/lies-damned-lies-and-obamas-deportation-statistics/ The Bamers, and the Merkels, and the EU, want to Import replacement Voters, in exchange for goodies from the State. Bullshit. Immigrants don't get to vote until they become citizens. In the U.S. that takes about 2yrs. And they have to pass a test on U.S. government and take an oath to support the Constitution and the democratic process - so you wouldn't qualify Thus, to ensure the Progressive Choke Hold on power, Yeah it must be that Progressive Choke hold that prevents the GOP from doing anything despite having a majority in both houses of Congress. If only they had the Presidency - then maybe they could invade Syria, the Ukaraine, and Iran. numerically. So its a play on your ideologies part, and a failure on my ideologies part (I am genuinely a pragmatist but want ourt nation-state to survive for a good while). Survive as a white male rich-man's oligarchy. I feel (not think) that the US is due for a civil war, and what happens afterwards, is anyone's guess. Well the cops are doing their best to incite a revolt among blacks. Maybe a US continent looking something like the HBO series, The Man in the High Castle (book written in 62) will result? Trump's already proposed making Muslims carry I.D. cards so he can watch them better. Perhaps, the best we can all hope for would be territorially, a velvet divorce, like between the Czech and Slovak Republic. You'd move out of Texas, and I'd move out of Ohio. A traumatic vision in either case, and one I do not look forward to. Why not move to Texas now. They seem to have everything you want. Exaggerated self-worth, mythical history, persecution complex, apocalyptic visions, contempt for diversity, guns, grits, and greed. Apologies, for this rant, but I felt that your Slate article needed a reposite. I doubt you even read it. It was quite funny. But humor is rare in revolutionaries. Brent "Texas is my country, truth is my religion - and fuck 'em if they can't take a joke." --- Kinky Friedman I used 'effects' on this email to assist in your reading of this epistle, so as to speed it all up, and lessen your likely, disgust at my words.
