Did I say it was not important to intelligence? You seem to read a lot
that isn't written. The location is important because the tentacles
behave intelligently even when cut off. So the intelligence, and hence
the consciousness, is distributed.

I don't see the connection, in principle you might not even
consciously know where your data is being processed, you only know
where your sense organs are
.
