The CI got a bad rap because some woo-woo merchants seized on the idea that is was consciousness that collapsed the wave-function; which was never what Heisenberg or Bohr said. If you take MWI and instead imaging all the worlds still exist after decoherence you suppose that all but one world fades away as the cross terms in the reduced density matrix go to zero then you're back to CI.
