This is false. Belief in an external reality is not "an act of faith".
It's not an "act" at all, much less a conscious one. It is a hard-wired
basis of belief provided by evolution.

into my monkey-self? This is not even a question of physicalism vs idealism, it's a
question of dualism vs non-dualism, and you are the person I least expect to believe in

Right. Belief is an act of the brain+body. "Act of faith" sounds like
a soul choosing some belief.
