Usually, people saying that they are religious, do NOT mean that they are attracted by fantasy and fiction. All religious people believe they side on the truth. Most educated Christians do not believe in the literal reading of the bible. But, christians have become materialist, and that is incompatible with Mechanism. Why defend the radicals? Why put a millenium of theology done with the scientific attitude under the rug, and participate with them to criticise a coming back to reason? Primary matter is a powerful supernatural being already, from a mechanist viewpoint.
